She was educated in the Arlington school system. Baptized at an early age.
Years later family moved to Florida where she worked and retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co., and as a school crossing guard.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Edwards, where she was on the Usherboard for many years, also was a member of the Eastern Stars as the Worthy Matron of the Chapter.
Later she became a Jehovah’s Witnesses where she loved and enjoyed serving with her brothers and sisters.
She had many special qualities about her, Our special one was cooking.
Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, one son Herbert Maxey and daughter Shirley A. Anderson, and devoted friend Willie Maxey.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters
