Mrs. Blanca Cecilia Garzon

Cecilia was born in the city of Fusagasuga, Cundinamarca, in central Colombia to Isaac Martinez and Teresa Rodriguez on April 15, 1940. She went to school in La Aquaita and Fusa. She was married to German Garzon on April 22, 1965 in Yonkers, New York. She was the sole proprietor of her domestic house cleaning business for close to 40 years. Cecilia, with her husband German, was involved in the first ever Colombian Community Center of Yonkers . Founded in the summer of 1977 as a place where local Colombians came together to celebrate Colombian culture with the Yonkers community.

Cecilia doted over her 2 sons. Even with her busy work schedule , she always made time for delicious home cooked meals. Walking to Piano lessons and learning what types of fashion her sons would and wouldn't wear.

Blanca Cecilia is survived by her husband German, sons Orlando and Anthony. Sisters Maria del Carmen, Gertrudis, Rosa Helena, and Ines. Grand children James, Adriana, Joshua, Jonathan, and Jordan.

Funeral services will be held from 11 am to 1:30 pm, Saturday, March 8 th at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home with the Deacon Mendoza of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Parish, officiating. Burial will follow at Fred Hunter's Memorial Gardens North . Arrangements are by Fred Hunter's Funeral Home.
