Born May 18, 1948, Camille departed this life on September 14, 2012, due to complications of pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her loving husband and soul mate, Michael Labate; mother, Minnie Reale; brothers, Anthony (Barbara) Reale, Carl Reale; children Susan (Michael) Mortillaro, Harry (Ana) Labate; grandchildren Truman and Maxwell Mortillaro, Sally Marie Labate; sisters-in-laws Adele (Louis) Nitti, Valerie Irrig, Teresa Ribaudo, and brother-in-law Carl (Grace) Labate.
Camille grew up in New York, enjoying music, learning, and summers at the shore. Always knowing that she wanted to be a Teacher, she lived her dream touching the lives of young people in a teaching career that spanned 41 years in New York and Florida, 33 in the Broward County Schools. Her family was most important to her and she enriched their lives with her love, enthusiasm, a great sense of humor, and of course, her Sunday Italian dinners.
The family invites you to gather with them on Friday, September 28, from 5-6 pm, with a memorial service to follow at 6 pm at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 2401 S. University Drive, Davie, FL.
