Ms. Spitznagle was a very warm and caring woman,she was the girl scout leader for several years for my daughter and was a wonderful example for the girls. May she rest in peace.

Ms Spitznagle was an amazing woman with a very big heart! There was a time in my life when I was not in a good place. She was so good to me. She was there for me when I felt I had no where to go. I will never forget! Then there are the countless memories of Disney and camp and all the amazing activities she planned for us as Girl Scouts. I pray that I am half the nurse she was while I care for my patients! May you be at peace now surrounded by Angels. You will always be in my heart.

Quite simply, Carol Lee MacGregor Spitznagle was a wonderful person, the kind that that the world would be Paradise if there were more, the kind of person who asked little and gave much, a person you would want in your immediate family and after whom you would name your children, someone who would engender love and pride in the hearts of her clanswomen and clansmen. We knew that she served her offices on the Executive Board with intelligence, kindness and creativity. As we came to know her better through our shared adventures at Clan Gatherings and time together at the Fort Lauderdale games, we learned more about her: her devotion to her extended family, pride in her heritage, delight in traveling, unflappability, sense of humor, and willingness to help out and to try anything, all while watching out to ensure that you were all right. Carol was well-informed on many diverse topics, so any conversation was informative and interesting. She loved planning and executing trips, particularly when they involved Ashton, Erika and Albert. She loved to show them her expansive world, and traveled to many countries, including Guatemala this May. Despite chemotherapy and, we are sure, really difficult days, Carol was game for embarking on new adventures and ticking off items on her bucket list. In facing her disease, Carol exhibited courage that was inspirational, and reminded us of our proud heritage: "MacGregor, despite them."Clan Gatherings were so much fun with our merry troop of Carol, John and LouAnn MacGregor, Maggie Sanderfield and Eileen Pruett, and the two of us. We squeezed into cars to ride together, shopped and saw sights including DisneyWorld in October; oh, and did we say that we ate ice cream together in every state where MacGregors gathered for the past many years? And mostly, we laughed a lot.Carol was a blessing in our lives, enriched by knowing her. We met Carol in 2009 - In SCOTLAND! Such a friendly outgoing person. I last saw her in Tampa in Ocxt. 2012. No one would ever know her health problems. Qujite a lady! I feel honored to have known her -even for such a short time. We send our condolences to her family and friends.

Dearest Momma Spitznagle,You are such a giving and thoughtful person. I remember spending many nights at house and swimming in the pool. The fun we had taking girl scout trips to Disney. Not to mention how you introduced tea into my life and English foods. You have touched some many lives and mended many sad hearts. Thanks for being there when my brother was sick and for all the times I needed a shoulder to lean on. I promise to take care of Erica and that sweet baby girl she is carrying. When we moved onto Harding Street in the spring of 1978, one of the first people we met was Carol. She lived only a few houses away-Carol very quickly became a dear friend. We shared a love of books, family, genealogy and so much more. Even though we left the neighborhood in 1980, I still think of Carol as my "best friend". We weren't together often but whenever we were able to see each other, the years just fell away and it was like we were still the same as those precious years when we were close. Carol always put others first and always put everyone at ease- and she lived with such love and joy. You are missed, Carol, but you leave a wonderful legacy in Erica and her family. We were blessed by you and your love of life.

Mrs. Spitznagle will always hold a special place in my heart. I have fond memories of her and the Girl Scouts. And although it has been a few years since I had the pleasure of seeing her I have thought about her often and believe that I am a better person for having known her.
