Catherine was born in Brooklyn New York to George Valsamis and Evangeline Grontas on January 12, 1924. Catherine went to school in Brooklyn New York. Catherine graduated from a vocational and technical school where she learned the sewing trade. Catherine was self-employed as a seamstress for many years. She was long time member of the Church of the Annunciation in North Miami, Fl.
Catherine is preceded in death by George Vrotsos nephew, Helen Valsamis sister, survived by Mitch Silverman son, Nick and Chris Silverman grandchildren, Vickie Vrotsos niece, Chris, John, and Mark Kaila nephews, Demetrios, John, and Manny, great nephews, great great nieces Marina, Arianni, Victoria, and Adrianna, great great nephews Yanni, Alexios, Georgie, and Markos.
There will be a celebration of life and church services in Samos Greece, at the Greek Orthodox Church in Pythagorean, Samos.
