Charles was born on October 19, 1926 to Ernest Ashworth and Ida Mae Mays. He married Ethel Louise Harkins on August 22, 1947 in Charleston, West Virginia. He worked as a carpenter and builder for over 40 years. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Navy.
Charles is preceded in death by several loved ones including his siblings and parents.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Ethel Louise Ashworth, and by his children, Stan (Debbie) Ashworth, Michael (Darlene) Ashworth, Beverly (Ronald) Hicks, and Mary Lou (Robert) Growick; 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and sister Judith (Fred) Black.
Visitation will be at 9:00 am on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Fred Hunter Hollywood Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Fred Hunter Hollywood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens North. Arrangements are by Fred Hunter Funeral Home.
