

Clarence Walter Dasher was born on April 5, 1930, in Uvalda, Georgia. He was the oldest of three children to Clarence Oliver Dasher and Marion Jones Dasher. On May 4, 2025, at 11:00 p.m., Clarence passed away peacefully in Miramar, Florida.
Clarence graduated from Dickerson Training School in 1947. After graduation, he moved to Gifford, South Carolina to work on his grandfather's, Walter Jones, farm. In 1948, Clarence moved to Coral Gables, Florida, to attend chauffeur school. He performed that job for three years.
In 1951, Clarence was drafted into the United States Army, where he diligently served until he retired as Sergeant First Class in 1973. Clarence attended basic training in Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina. He trained under the leadership of General William Westmoreland who was later in charge of the United States forces during the Vietnam War. In 1952 Clarence attended, graduated and became an instructor of the airborne school and special forces in Fort Benning, Georgia. He was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he was trained for air assault operations, including airfield seizure. He was also assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he became a paratrooper. He was trained in conducting forcible parachute assaults and joint entry operations. Some of Clarence's military tours of duty included Korea, Germany, and Vietnam. Clarence was awarded a Bronze Star in the Korean conflict and a Silver Star for valor in combat during the Vietnam War. He was an exemplary soldier in his service to this country.
In 1955, he met and married, Delores Sampson. Clarence was a pillar of strength and support for his family. Together they raised 3 children, Ronald, Clarence III, and LaQuita.
Among several hobbies, Clarence enjoyed gardening, playing cards, fishing, grilling steaks, bowling, attending the Miami Dolphin football games, and playing the lottery. Clarence will be fondly remembered for his bravery, stern voice, strict demeanor, work ethic, and strength. He was always a person you could count on to get the job done. He would willingly standup to any challenge.
Clarence was preceded in death by his ex-wife Delores Sampson Dasher and their son Ronald Dasher. He is survived by 2 of his children, Clarence (Eslanda) and LaQuita (Kelvin), 5 grandchildren, Larry, Michelle, Clarence IV, Kegan, Alexis, great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.
Inurnment service will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
