Diane P. Davis, Lady D or Aunty D as she was affectionately known by those close to her, passed away on September 1, 2023, HCA Woodmont Hospital in Tamarac, FL. She was born on July 13, 1948 in Kingston Jamaica to Terrence and Dulcie Stiebel who predeceased her. Diane was a caring, nurturing and compassionate woman whose warm, kind-hearted and giving nature touched the lives of many.
Diane’s educational journey began in Jamaica W.I. at Knox College, St, Hilda’s Diocesan High School in Brown’s Town, before she pursued further studies at The University of the West Indies Nursing School. She acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in her field and make a positive impact on the lives of her patients and their families.
On migrating to the USA in 1982, she continued her nursing career at Cedars Hospital in Miami, then moved to Holy Cross Hospital in Ft Lauderdale until retirement in 2022. She also cultivated a nurturing and supportive home for family and friends who were adopted as family. The spirit of giving and charity in which she walked in, was evident in all aspects of her life including her chosen career path.
Outside of her professional life, Diane enjoyed spending time with and caring for her family, traveling, reading and donating to charity. In her early years she grew in her faith through the Anglican Church and through reading the Daily Word from Unity. In the latter part of her earthly walk, she found solace in the women’s group at Community Christian Church where she worshipped and through online worship via TBN. Her faith was an important aspect of her life, providing her with strength and guidance.
Diane will be deeply missed by her daughter Shelley Williams (Davis), her son Nicholas Davis, step-son Dwight Davis, Daughter in-law Jackie Davis (Ross), step-daughters, Dahlia, Christine Fenton (Davis), Bridgette Short (Davis), son in-law Dr. Robby Short, her grandsons Malcomn Williams and Matthew Williams, her sister C.
