Didier was born on November 5, 1960 in Henin Lietard, France to Marie-Thérèse and Emmanuel Peyronnet. He grew up in a loving house in the North of France with his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Early in life, Didier demonstrated a strong sense of love for nature, fairness for all, integrity and peace. After being a shepherd in the beautiful mountains of the South of France, Didier started traveling the world. From the mountains of Switzerland to the peaceful views of Tibet, from the colorful landscapes of India to the shores of Sri Lanka, Didier found his true nature and started his sailing journey in the Mediterranean Sea.
His journey took him to Annapolis, MD where, in 1986, he knew instantly he had met his soul mate, Marianne. From that moment on and until his last breath, Didier and Marianne shared everything. On that day of July 1986, their lives became one. Their love and happiness were obvious to all. Together, they worked in introducing catamarans to the US boating world and relocated to Fort Lauderdale in the early 90’s. In 1993, they decided to widen their horizons and moved to the island of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, where they started a new company and continued writing the catamaran history. Didier becomes the reference in every matter. In 2000, they welcomed their first son, Téo, and became husband and wife. In 2006, their second son, Noé, was born and their family became whole. Their unconditional love for each other and their sons, and their life in the islands they so much loved was pure happiness. Didier had arrived where he belonged. He found peace and it poured into his family each minute of the day.
Didier was and will remain a free spirit with a beautiful soul. He was entire and honest in his beliefs, true to his friends, and the best husband and father for which anyone could have hoped. His love was an amazing gift to Humanity.
Didier will soon return to the pristine waters and colorful hills of the British Virgin Islands where his friends and family will celebrate his amazing soul.
