

Donald was born in Miami, Florida to Arthur and Alice Coxe on a Wednesday, July 3, 1946. He graduated from Miami Edison Senior High School, where he attended 1960-1964. On November 28, 1969 Donald married the love of his life Carolyn Ann Saess in Miami, Florida at Redeemer Lutheran Church. From 1968-1999, Donald served dutifully as a City of Miami Firefighter. Donald also served his country during the Vietnam War in the Army from 1965-1967. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Hollywood and Davie, Florida. Donald participated for many years in the Firefighter Olympics in the sport of basketball, which he loved.
Donald is preceded in death by his mother, Alice L. Coxe, and his father, Arthur B. Coxe.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn S. Coxe, his three adoring children Donald B. Coxe Jr., Caroline L. Darcy (Coxe), Christopher L. Coxe, and their spouses Edward V. Darcy Jr. and Jamie Coxe (Jacuzzo). Donald is also survived by beloved twin brother Ronald A. Coxe, and sister Debra L. Carreiro (Coxe) and spouse Jeffrey Carreiro. Lastly, Donald’s three grandchildren Emma Grace Darcy, Presley Marion Coxe, and Riley Ann Coxe will miss their “Papa” forever.
