

Donna was born in Columbia, TN to Eugenia and Clyde Cole on December 28, 1933. She attended public schools in Columbia, Mobile, AL, and Miami, FL. Upon graduation from Miami Edison High School in 1951, she began her 40-year career with Eastern Airlines as a stenographer, working her way up through the ranks to become Senior Analyst. While working full time, she obtained an associates degree from Miami-Dade Junior College and earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Florida International University in 1975. Following the closure of Eastern Airlines, Donna continued her career in the airline industry with Southern Air Transport and Aviation Sales Distribution Company.
Donna was an active volunteer in Eastern Airlines Retirees Association, serving as Board Secretary, Membership Chair, and editing its newspaper. As one of the first residents of Cedarwood Townhouses in Pembroke Pines, Donna served on the Board of Directors of the Cedarwoods HOA and was Secretary/Treasurer up until her death.
A devout Christian and life-long student of the Bible, over the years Donna was a faithful member of 7th Avenue Church of Christ, North Miami Church of Christ, and Harding Street Church of Christ
In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by twin sister Joan Cole and brother-in-law Fender “Mac” McLeod.
Donna is survived by her sister Jean McLeod of Pembroke Pines and cousins Gary Connelly of Columbia, TN; Ralph (Kay) Richardson of Memphis, TN; Keith Richardson of Knoxville, TN; Shane (Shanika) Prentice of Pembroke Pines; Amanda Prentice of Alachua, FL; and her beloved chihuahua Paco.
Visitation for Donna will be held from 11:00 AM to 12 followed by funeral services at 12 noon on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home, 6302 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL with Jamey Hinds of Harding Street Church of Christ officiating Burial will follow at Southern Memorial Park, 1500 W Dixie Hwy, North Miami, FL 33181.
The family of Donna wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses of Memorial Regional Hospital, her fellow members of Harding Street Church of Christ, and cherished Cedarwood neighbors.
