She was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on November 7, 1917, a daughter of Earl Clifton and Sadie A. (Jeffrey) Blake. Raised and educated in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
Dorothy and her family moved to St. Petersburg in 1957 where for many years she worked at the Grand Way Store. In 1982, she and her husband moved to Fort Lauderdale and became active with the Broward County Foster Grandparent Program at Riverland Road Elementary Kindergarten, helping young children learn how to read. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale, enjoyed reading and loved to crochet in her spare time. Her beloved husband, George Arnold died in 1999.
Survived by her two daughters, Bonilyn Wilbanks, Carole Blake and son, Kenneth Arnold and his wife Patricia Arnold, six grandchildren, Judy, Nancy, David, Wendy, Kimberly and Stephanie and 13 great grandchildren and former son-in-law, Jack Wilbanks
Entombment services will be held on Friday, January 24th at 2:00 P.M. at Fred Hunter's Cemetery and Mausoleum Chapel, 6301 Taft Street in Hollywood. Chaplain Rick Braswell will officiate. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
