Dorothy lived in Miami for many years where she raised her four children as well as owned and operated several restaurants and catering businesses. Following her second marriage, she moved to North Carolina, then to Atlanta. She returned to south Florida over 20 years ago and worked in Guest Services (customer support) at Calder Race Course until her retirement.
Dorothy is survived by her children, David Colbert (Dee), Patricia Geddings (Allen) and Judi Reed (Jerry); 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert H. (Pat) Colbert and George Howell; son, Kenneth W. Colbert and sister, Paula Hayes.
Visitation is 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Gardens Home; 6301 Taft Street; Hollywood 33024. Immediately following the service, please join Dorothy's family for a light lunch and fellowship in the Funeral Home Community Center (across from the chapel).
