

Dorothy “Dotty” Frances Rollo Lindeman, 78, of Davie, Florida, passed away on May 18th, 2020, after a long illness. Dotty lived a fulfilling life that her loved ones will always remember and appreciate.
A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 10:30 am Friday, June 19th, at Fred Hunter Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida. Due to the global pandemic restrictions, the service honoring Dorothy’s Life will be broadcast via Fred Hunter’ Live Webcasting Channel 2. Placement of Dorothy’s Urn will immediately follow the funeral service directly across the street, at Hollywood Memorial Gardens, at the dual stone she and Gerry selected. The family will receive guests at the home of Melissa Tori, while adhering to public restrictions from 4pm – 7pm on Friday, June 19th.
Dorothy was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 2nd, 1941. After graduation from Babylon High School, Dotty earned a Bachelor of Science degree, Magna Cum Laude, at Niagara University. Later, she earned a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. She began her professional career as a as an instructor at WCU, then as Systems Manager for Nantahala Power and Light in Franklin, NC. Ultimately, Dorothy’s career took her to sunny South Florida working for Wayne Huizinga’s subsidiaries. Dorothy retired after long service as MIS Department Head for Land and Sea Distributors. A lifelong learner, Dorothy continued earning various credentials and professional certifications, even in retirement.
In South Florida, Dorothy found her soulmate, Gerald S. Lindeman (deceased), and the two married in January 1987. As Nova Singers performers, they traveled throughout Europe serenading others. Upon retirement, Dotty and Gerry traveled the world together, were doting grandparents, and settled into a comfortable life until Gerry’s passing in 2017. They were married thirty years and are now reunited in heaven.
Dorothy enjoyed playing guitar, crocheting, singing in the choir, and NFL Football on Sunday afternoons. A Trekkie, she had a passion for science fiction, and was enamored by Charles Schultz’s “Peanuts” characters. She served as a Minister of the Eucharist and was also actively involved in various church and community groups during her lifetime.
Dorothy is survived by her three children from her first marriage: Maria (Alan) Rubin of Surfside, Florida, Martin Tori III of Walpole, MA, and Melissa (Joe) Tori of Davie, Florida. Grandchildren Deanna (Isaac) Lavine of Conshohocken, PA, Matthew Tori of Walpole, MA, and Jake Rubin of Surfside, FL. Her siblings are: Patricia (Bill) Colletti of Babylon, NY, and Jean (Vinnie) Mizzi of Las Vegas, NV, and Gerry’s sister, Nadine Fellows of Indiana.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Dorothy Rollo, and her first husband, Martin Tori, Jr of Radcliff, KY.
