Adesoji was born on September 30, 1965, in Lagos, Nigeria, to Olasunkade and Aduke Adewumi, affectionately known as Baba and Iya Imola. He was raised alongside four siblings whom he loved and cared for deeply. Adesoji, as a child, was definitely a handful, but despite his troublesome nature, there was no denying his brilliance. He possessed a sharp wit, confidence, and unwavering belief in his capabilities that carried into his adulthood.
Educated at Imola Day School, Ibadan Grammar School, and Bishop Aggrey Memorial Secondary School in Nigeria, Adesoji pursued higher education abroad, first at Roxbury Community College in Boston, Massachusetts, and then completing his Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. His academic journey culminated with a PhD from Nova Southeastern University, earning him the distinguished title of Dr. Adesoji Michael Adewumi (DAMA). Subsequently, he ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing a pharmacy in Miami, Florida, alongside various successful ventures in Nigeria.
In 1993, Adesoji married his first wife, Adediwura, with whom he had two beautiful children, Adedokun and Adedeji. In 2008, Adesoji married Folasade, with whom he had a beautiful daughter, Adeteju. Together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories.
As a devoted father to three children, Adedokun, Adedeji, and Adeteju, Adesoji enjoyed spending quality time watching TV and talking with his children. His children will forever remember his humor, endless advice, and unconditional love.
Adesoji had a passion for music and entertainment, so much that he built studios in Nigeria providing a platform for aspiring artists to flourish. He loved to play the drums and always had an ear for good music. He also often hosted parties for his staff to celebrate a job well done, whether it was deserving or not. During parties, one place you could always find Adesoji was on the dance floor, dancing in the joy of celebration. He was always the life of the party.
Adesoji had a generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, without expecting anything in return. His faith was an essential part of his life, and he was actively involved in his church community.
Adesoji Michael Adewumi will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His tender heart touched the lives of everyone he met. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering love that will continue to inspire his family and friends for generations to come.
Forever in our hearts, Adesoji will be deeply missed by family, friends, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
