Elizabeth Ann "Betty" (Popovich) Bomba, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, formerly of Hollywood, Florida and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away February 1, 2017, at Memorial Regional Hospital following a fall at home. She was 74 years of age.
Born in Homestead, Pennsylvania on July 14, 1942, daughter of John and Nancy (Lajkov) Popovich. Raised in Whitaker, PA, Betty graduated from Homestead High School. She met and married Bernard L. "Bernie" Bomba, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.
She and her family came to Hollywood, Florida in 1970. She worked part-time as a Defensive Driving School Instructor for the National Safety Council for many years. She loved and cared for her family, above all else and will be sorely missed by all.
Survived by her beloved husband of 54 years Bernard L. Bomba, a retired Miramar police officer, two loving children, Jaime Bomba (Pembroke Pines Police Officer) and Kimberly Bomba-Black (Registered Nurse), two adored Grandchildren, Mason and Kelsey Black, brother John Popovich, two sisters, Madeline Gamble, Anita Driscoll and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Popovich.
