

Born in Pasadena, California on September 1, 1925. Eugene was the son of the late Norman and Ruth Hollis Lyon. He was predeceased by brother, Norman Lyon, wives, Elaine W. Lyon and Mary G. Lyon. He leaves behind his loving family Kimberly (Roy) Kuennen, Michelle (Ray) King and Tamara (Luis) Carrasco. Brothers, Richard (Cindy) Lyon and Timothy Lyon. Grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Matthew (Kaleigh), Timothy (Jasmine) Kuennen, Christopher (Meagan) and Mary Elizabeth King, five great grandchildren (including the impending arrival of his newest great grandson) and many nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of USC (University of Southern California), with a B.S. in Engineering, and received his MBA from Stanford. He was still an active member of the southern chapter of the Stanford Club until the time of his death.
He was very proud of his service with the United States Navy, serving in the Korean Conflict and continuing his service in the Navy Reserves, attaining the rank of Commander , before retiring after exceeding 20 years of service.
Mr. Lyon moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1953, and shortly afterwards, open his real estate company under the name of Broward Properties, which later changed to TMK Reality. He built many close friendships through the years with the Fort Lauderdale Board of Realtors and was still an active member until the time of his death.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge the staff of Florida Medical Rehabilitation Center for not only their compassionate care over the years, but especially for their friendship. We would also like to acknowledge and thank many of his dearest friends including; Natalye Brown, retired Judge John Miller, his many friends at the Fort Lauderdale Bridge Club, the staff of the Copper Kettle and his cherished Lion's Club (family), which he was a member for close to 60 years .
Per Mr. Lyon's wishes, cremation has occurred and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Please no donations or flowers but instead the family would love to hear your memories of their dad and grandfather on his memory page.
