Eva D Nielsen

Eva Grace Davy Nielsen, 95, of Dania Beach, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 09 2016 in Hollywood, FL. She was born to the late Elvin and Lillian (DeForge) Davy on August 23, 1920 in East Orange, New Jersey.

Eva graduated from Mills College of Education with a degree in early childhood education. She taught for a few years before she married the love of her life James Nielsen and dedicated her life to her family. She was married to her husband James for 58 years. Eva and James lived in Maplewood, New Jersey and Penfield, New York before James retired and they moved to Dania Beach, Florida in 1984.

Eva lived a very full and active life. As she raised her children, she was active in the public schools, the Presbyterian Church, Boy and Girl Scouts, garden club, community theater.

After moving to Florida, Eva and her husband traveled to Europe, China, and toured the entire United States. They visited their grown children and grandchildren on a regular basis. In addition to travel, she enjoyed tennis, reading fiction, completing word puzzles and volunteering for the American Red Cross and Hospice Care of Southeast Florida.

Eva was preceded in death by: her parents, Elvin and Lillian, her husband of 58 years, James M. Nielsen and her daughter, Ann N. Sullivan.

She is survived by her loving children, son, Kris Peder Nielsen and his wife, Edna

daughters; Sue N. Kelly, Kim N. Bartholomew and her husband Ralph. Son - in - law Michael Sullivan; Grandchildren; James Nielsen, Clare Olbrys, Tim Sullivan, Alyse Bartholomew and Emma Bartholomew. Great-Grandchildren; Lilja Olbrys, Lena Olbrys and Ava Rose Mattson.

Celebration of her life will be conducted on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 11:00 at Fred Hunters Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL
