Evelyn Joan McKee

Evelyn Joan McKee, 89, of Lantana, FL, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019. She was born to parents Joseph and Mathilda Lawrence, on September 26, 1929 in Bronx, New York.

Evelyn worked as a Bell South Customer Service Representative for 24 years. She retired from Bell South in 1989 and was an active member of the Hollywood Chapter of the Pioneers Club in her retirement.

Her love of sea shells and the ocean began as a little girl growing up on her father's boat fishing and digging for clams in Long Island Sound. If you ever wanted to know about sea shells she was the lady to ask, as she had a very extensive collection. She also loved to cross stitch and sew, and over the years created many lovely treasures!

Evelyn and Robert were married December 14, 1947 in Bronx, New York. Together they raised four sons: Robert, Richard, Donald, and Kenneth.

Evelyn is survived by sons: Robert McKee (Ronnie), Richard McKee (Joy), Donald McKee (Susanne), and Kenneth McKee (Susan). Grandson: Keith McKee (Teresa), granddaughter: Karen McKee Redinger (Mike), grandson: Kevin McKee (Jen),grandson: Ryan McKee (Mary), granddaughter: Stacy McKee, grandson: Jonathan McKee

Great grandchildren: Shaylei, Shelby, Jack, Dylan, Brody, Haley, & Peyton

She was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Mathilda Lawrence, husband Robert McKee, and sister Mathilda Lawrence Klingele.
