Flavia Mungal

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM (visitation 1:00 PM) on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home Davie, Florida. Rev. Andrew Chan-A-Sue of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church will be officiating.

Flavia Mungal was born in Trinidad on May 12th, 1933, to the late Bernard Mungal and Margaret (Gurdeen) Mungal. Flavia was an entrepreneur and restaurant owner of Mungal’s Cafe in St. Augustine, Trinidad. She had a passion for cooking and baking.  

Flavia is survived by her children, Margaret Mahadeo (Late Dr. Christendath), Joseph Mungal (Vidya), Mali Harripersad (Harry), Balroop Beebakhee (Gloria), Mohinee Hadeed (Marcus), Ian Murray "Gomes"; her grandchildren, Madhuvanti Murphy (Mark), Chris Mahadeo, Ricky Mahadeo (Tracie), Wesley Mungal, Mikhail Mungal, Mark Harripersad, Dana Harripersad (Fazeel), Rajiv Beebakhee (Erica), Elizabeth Hadeed, Sameeh Hadeed; great grandson, Zane Murphy; and brother Cyril Mungal. She is also survived by Jennings Bobb, Dillon Bobb, Matthew Murphy, Fareeda Ali, Sue Mookram, Nicole Mahabir and others. Flavia was preceded in death by her husband Basdeo Mahabir, sister Stella Albert and brother Simeon Graham. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to your charity of choice. The family of Flavia Mungal wishes to thank the staff of Westside Regional Hospital in Plantation, Florida, for their care and kind support.
