Florence Falida Roth, 73, of Tamarac Florida, passed away on October 23rd, 2024 in Tamarac, Florida.
Florence was born in Harare, Zimbabwe to Ginger and Mary Chareka. She graduated Standard 6 at Harare High School. She met and married her 1st love Rufas Samuel Phillips and started a family. Immediately, Florence started a career as a Tailor, specializing in custom drapery and vestments.
With her family growing, Florence used her entrepreneurial gifts and talents to start a small clothing business. She successfully secured contracts with companies like Raw Brick and the Zimbabwean Army, providing clothing for Service Men and their families. Her husband Rufus was a renowned Pastor, and together, they served their community and spread the love of Christ.
After the devastating loss of her husband, Florence enlisted in and served in the Air Force of Zimbabwe.
After 10 years of active duty, Florence took early retirement due to an injury and decided to move to the United States of America. She took up a career in Nursing and was working as a Nurse when she met her sweetheart Lowell Roth. She married Lowell on October 23rd, 2007 in Tamarac.
As a devoted Christian, Florence was involved in The Women’s Club, a Christian Group for Women Fraternity. She received numerous Awards of Excellence for her contributions and achievements towards families. She served as a Christian teacher for young children at A Place Called Hope, encouraging youthful minds to follow and believe in the Lord.
Florence is preceded in death by Mary Chareka(Mother), Ginger Chareka Father; Mary Mutevera (Grandmother), David Chareka (Brother), and Phoebe Kabango (Sister).
Florence is survived by her spouse Lowell Roth and her family:
Brother: Derek Chareka.
Children: Doreen Phillips, Pamela Brewton (Spouse Tony), Leslie Phillips, Arnold Phillips, Azariah Phillips, and Emmanuel Kadzombe.
Grandchildren: Simone Mokina (Spouse Shingai), Anesu Chibanguza, Kundai Chibanguza, Rufaro Chibanguza, Mischka Kadzombe, Nina Kadzombe, and Emmanuel Jr. Kadzombe.
Great-Grandchildren: Briela Mokina and Bomani Mokina.
Nieces: Vengai Kabango, Estelle Kabango, Viniah Kabongo Florence Chareka, and Faith Chareka.
Nephews: Makesure Kabango, Knowledge Kabango, Mathew Kabango, Tawanda Chareka and Tafadzwa Chareka.
Florence was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, and wife. She extended her love to not only her family but her neighbors, church family, patients, young children, and everyone she came across. Her kindness, strength, sense of humor, and shining light did not go unnoticed. She has left us with many loving memories that cannot be erased and will be with us forever. As the sun sets on her journey, we mourn her absence with hope and gratitude, in the gentle of time. Florence has become an Ancestor, leading us with whispers of guidance and love – as she is not just a memory, but an eternal Angel in and of our hearts.
