He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Maria Martin, daughters Gisel (Gigi) and Michelle, son in law Clem Malone, grandchildren Michael, Kloo (and wife Kara), Melissa Velazquez (and husband Jonathan) and Crystal Bloom (and husband David) and his great grand daughters Arianna, June and Jocelyn.
Born and raised in New York City, he was the son of German immigrants Frank and Christina Martin, and was the youngest of four. He came from humble beginnings and was a man of honor and integrity. He started working at age 9 to help his then widowed mother make ends meet and vowed to work hard and never be in poverty again. He served this great country as a member of the Air Force during the Korean War and went on to receive a Bachelor's in Accounting under the GI bill. He met Maria in New York and we hear it was love at first sight. They married and after the birth of their first child moved to Puerto Rico were they would raised their three children. Dad and mom lost their son, and our brother Eric in 1980 to a tragic bicycle accident. He would go on to face many other types of adversity including losing his voice box about 10 years ago. Despite life's challenges, he faced life with eagerness and determination as a victor!
Frank was a CPA by profession working in the construction, jewelry and banking and finance industries over his lifetime most recently at Barnett Bank and Bank of America Prior to moving to the Palm Coast/ Daytona area in 2009 they lived in Davie Florida (Ivanhoe) for nearly 28 years to be near their daughters and grandchildren. He was totally devoted to us and we admire him most for they way he loved his wife, the commitment and sacrifices he made for us and how he dealt with trials - always Victorious!
.
A simple man, and avid collector he enjoyed the beach, garage sales, playing cards and dominoes and spending time with friends and family. He was a man of few words and how we all wish we could have gotten more into that head of his. Frank enjoyed going to the movies and his all time favorites included Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz.
Dad instilled in us the love of family, hard work and the importance of facing adversity head on with grace and determination. Words cannot express how much he will be missed.
