

George Bonos was born on September 9, 1920, in the village of Trapezoti, just outside Sparta, Greece. George was the youngest son of Eleni Roumeliotis and Adonis Bonos. After growing up in Trapezoti, George went to Athens where he became a police officer. In Athens he also met the love his life, his widow, Thalia Bonos. Thalia and George soon emigrated to Toronto, Canada, where they had two children Adonis (Tony) and Eleni (Helen). George and Thalia celebrated 56 years of marriage this past May. The family later moved to South Florida where George spent the remainder of his years with his loving family. George was a loving and caring father. George had a great passion for life, particularly Greek music, his heritage and culture. George was quick witted and had a positive outlook on life. George entered the life triumphant on June 22, 2013. George lived a full life. George is survived by his wife, Thalia, his children Tony Bonos and Helen Bonos-Montoya and his son-in-law Patrick Montoya.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in George's name.
