Glenn Richard Petrini, 64, born in New York to James and Vera Petrini, and residing in Boca Raton and Hollywood, Florida for 27 years, passed away November 21 at home after his battle with cancer. He fought bravely and was strong until the end, just like he worked and played during his life.Glenn was passionate about everything he did in life - he worked hard, liked vacations and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a very loyal friend, trusted colleague, totally devoted husband, and a wonderful travelling companion that loved seeing new places every year.Glenn met his wife, Gay Holden, 35 years ago in Mount Kisco NY and they were true partners in life, One night he sang a song to her....and then introduced her to Lou Gramm, who wrote that song (Waiting for A Girl Like You). They were devoted to each other forever after, and he was an incredible husband for 27 years.Glenn began his career in the hospitality and culinary industry working for his father's catering business at the Elks Club, learning everything from dishwashing to bartending while attending and graduating from Fox Lane High School. After attending Hiram Scott College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, he continued in the restaurant and catering business in Mt Kisco, Washington DC and south Florida. He was head chef at Hankerchips in Mt. Kisco, general manager of several restaurants and caterer to top politicos in Washington DC, manager and bartender for prestigious country clubs and resort hotels, and consultant to restaurant and catering establishments throughout his career.Coworkers will tell you he was always early, and Glenn listened to and advised anyone that wanted it. Regardless of how he felt, he always provided a smile and help to all that he served. He was the one that made everyone laugh, and always looked you in the eye. A supporter of his labor union, Glenn's passion was banking. He saved two-dollar bills, collected Susan B. Anthony dollars and other unusual coins. Glenn is survived by his caring wife Gay Holden Petrini of Hollywood Florida, his brother James Petrini (Shawn) of Raleigh, North Carolina, his stepmother Ruth Petrini and cousins Joe Mangione (Jill) and Mickey Mangione (Laura, his stepsister) of San Antonio Texas.A celebration memorial will be held December 13 at Diplomat Hotel & Spa in Hollywood Florida.
