WILLIAMS, GLORIA LOUISE. Gloria Louise (Corrie) Williams passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009. A loving mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, she lived in the Fort Lauderdale area for over 30 years. She graduated from Columbia University where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Teachers College. She dedicated her life to teaching her love of math to others at Plantation High School (Plantation, FL) and later at Broward Community College (Davie, FL). When not teaching, she spent countless hours tutoring students in math. She was survived by her children, Vanessa, Michael, and David; her grandchildren, Darryl, Stephen, Chase, Isabelle, and Lillian; her siblings, Hugh and Joy; and her dear friends. A gathering will take place on Friday, August 28, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Fred Hunters Memorial Services at 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024, (954) 989-1550 followed by a graveside ceremony at Hollywood Memorial Garden North, 3001 N. 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, FL 33024.
