Gregory Robert Hielsberg

Greg was born in Oshkosh, WI, on August 28, 1957, to Robert C. Hielsberg and Barbara A. Koch.  Greg went to school at Fox Valley College in Appleton, WI. 

Greg was blessed with two loving children, Jennifer and Matthew, with his former spouse, Diana Cops-Hielsberg.  He was later blessed with stepchildren, Richard and Nicole.  He cared deeply for his family and ensured they were protected. 

He was dedicated to his career as a top commercial sales producer and business management.  

Greg met Margarita Fajardo 26 years ago.  At that time, they embarked on their journey together.  On December 31, 2008, Greg married Margarita in Las Vegas, NV.  They lived happily in South Florida where they laughed often and shared many adventures, frequently surrounded by family, which filled Greg’s heart.  Greg and Margarita had a wonderful life together, full of appreciation and respect for one another.

Greg had a zest for life and was full of love, optimism, and strength.  He loved to live and lived to love.  His laugh was infectious and his smile was captivating.  He will be remembered for his dedication and unwavering care for his family.  He appreciated the outdoors, being near the water, fishing trips, football games, his plants, cooking, and time with family and friends.  Greg loved his granddaughters, Briella (5) and Brexli (3), and was proud and honored to be their Papa.   

Greg is survived by his wife, Margarita; daughter, Jennifer (Bret) Bielema; son, Matthew (Maria) Hielsberg; stepchildren, Richard (Diana) Palma and Nicole (Brian) Goldmeier; grandchildren, Briella and Brexli Bielema; step-grandchild, Francesca Palma; siblings, Julie Konop and Jim Hielsberg; former spouse, Diana Cops-Hielsberg; godchild, Kimberly Brezinski; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.  He is also survived by his two dogs, Max and Molly.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Barbara Hielsberg. 

Family and friends may visit Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024, on Thursday, December 1, for the Visitation starting at 3 PM.  The funeral service will follow.
