October 17, 1937 - September 19, 2015
Harold was a devoted husband to Judy for 58 years, a wonderful father to Jim (Gerianne), Tom (Cheryl) and Rick and was a proud Grandpa and Pop Pop of Jen (Justin) French, Jimmy, Mike and Samantha Phillips. He was one of seven children born to Leona and Frank Phillips and is survived by his brother Kenneth (Pat) and sister Shirley (George) Lopata.
Harold had a fulfilling career at United Airlines for 43 years in Miami, Florida. Upon his retirement in 1999, he received an award for his many years of exemplary service with the company.
He and Judy enjoyed travel, visiting many destinations around the world and sharing adventures with Judy's sister and brother and their spouses, Jean and John Simon and Ken and Harriet Moore.
While his boys were growing up, Harold volunteered his time at S.W.B.J.A.A. in Miramar as a baseball and football coach for countless hours, and was a wonderful role model for all the boys whose lives he touched with his leadership, knowledge and kindness. He and Judy have been avid supporters of their grandchildren's interests throughout the years...which include dance, gymnastics, baseball and the visual and performance arts.
There will be a memorial prayer service officiated by Father Edmond Prendergast on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10:30am in the chapel at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 1301 S.W. 136 Avenue, Davie, FL 33325.
