Hector Javier Batista

Hector Javier Batista of Cooper City, Florida was peacefully called home to his Heavenly Father on May 15, 2017 following a lengthy and courageous battle with heart disease. Sustained by his abiding faith and the love of family and friends, his strength of character and concern for those he loved never wavered.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Hector's passion for the arts led him to study Visual Arts at the University of Sagrado Corazon, graduating in 1992. A shining career led him to a senior level creative position at Zumba Fitness, LLC in Hallandale, Florida where he was considered to be an exceptional team leader, a beloved coworker and responsible for many of the vibrant images and visual campaigns enjoyed by Zumba lovers throughout the world. Respected for his talent, warmth, keen sense of humor and authenticity, he was known for having the ability to make others feel welcomed, included and valued.

The son of Hector Batista Rodriguez and Zaida Ester Arce Marrero, he is survived by his sister Zwinda Batista, loving wife Jennifer Ramirez-Batista, his daughters Camila Batista and Andrea Batista and step-sons Noah Ramirez and Gabriel Soto. Husband, father, son, brother, loyal friend and exceptional coworker, Hector will remain in the hearts of all he touched.

Services will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024. Viewing 3 to 5 pm, Service 5 pm.
