Hughes Limoth Thomas

Hughes Thomas was born in St. Vincent, British West Indies to Victor & Hester Thomas on November 9th, 1935.  He attended Caribbean Union College in Chaguanas, Trinidad.  Widowed to 1st wife Lena Bacchus on September 22, 1978. Married to Ettie Soleyn in 1995 in Miami, FL. He was an agricultural businessman, entrepreneur, and, jeweler. He was a devoted Christian, who enjoyed fishing, gardening, story telling, and making jokes. 

Hughes Thomas is survived by:

-His wife, Ettie Thomas,

-His children Betty Thomas, Kenny and Olga Thomas, Annette Thomas, Ophelia and Richard McInturff, Denzil and Sharon Soleyn, Jemmut and Juliet Soleyn, Kennard and Cathleen Soleyn, Sheldon and Linda Soleyn, 

-His grandchildren: Sarah and Heather Thomas, Richard and Nadia Ramnanan, Ravi and Krippa Soleyn, Matthew Soleyn, Andrew and Jasmine Soleyn, and Donovan Soleyn.

-His great-grandchildren: Asha Soleyn, and Samson Soleyn

Viewing and Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Friday July, 28, 2023 at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home (6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024) with the Pastor G.P. Williams, of Hollywood Seventh-Day Adventist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Fred Hunter’s Cemetery. 

In lieu of flower donations, the family request monetary donations sent to St Benedict's Children's Home in Georgetown, St Vincent.   This orphanage of disabled children was dear to Hughes.   Please contact Sheldon Soleyn @ [email protected]  or (917) 224-7220.
