

Iris Rivera, 83, of Plantation, Florida passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Norma, and Ed Quackenbush. She was surrounded by her daughter, son, brother, sister, and all of her beloved family that was able to arrive, in Sykesville, Maryland to be with her.
Iris was born in Puerto Rico to Lizardo and Mercedes Lopez on 05/21/1940. She went to school in Bronx, New York. She married Reinaldo Rivera on July 22, 1960, in Jersey City, New Jersey. She worked as a Vice President for Nicolet Watch Company for many years.
Iris is preceded in death by Lizardo and Mercedes Lopez, Reinaldo Rivera, Rosalie Rivera, and her sibling Olga Sandham.
Iris is survived by her children Norma and Ed Quackenbush, William and Catherine Rivera, Anthony Rivera; Her siblings Mercedes Lopez and Robert Acosta, Hector, and Millie Lopez, Radames Lopez and Betty Ramos’. Her Grandchildren – Bryan and Lu Quackenbush, Josephine and Charlie Kohler, Katie Quackenbush and Shelby Rivera. Her beautiful Great-Grandchildren who she adored with all her heart William, Sophia, Adam, and Melissa. She is also survived by all her aunts and uncles, and cousins and the Cortes and Rivera family.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Fred Hunter Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Fred Hunter Funeral Home on 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida. A burial will follow at Fred Hunter Hollywood Memorial Garden East. Arrangements are by Fred Hunter Funeral Home.
