Isolyn Erica Ebanks Nicholson died peacefully on April 1, 2022, after her struggle with Parkinson's. Isolyn, a retired nurse was born in Jamaica to Ethelyn Brown and Albert Ebanks. She married Hugh George Nicholson in 1957 and had three children. After moving to the USA in 1967, Isolyn pursued and excelled at her vocation. She retired at 65 years old and continued to live a very fulfilling and rich life. She traveled extensively and has been to every continent in the world visiting over 30 countries. She loved cruising and being at sea, which goes to say she also loved swimming and being in the ocean.
She was an amazing cook and enjoyed cooking and entertaining, she loved to dance and just be merry. She had a smile that could light up a room and her smile could also melt your heart.
She was a caring and generous person that was quick to give a helping hand to her neighbors and everyone else that needed help. She was the epitome of love and showered everyone especially children (the consistent common thread of her life) with love. She was the mother to all our friends and the grandmother to every child she met. She was the best grandmother to all her grandchildren, always there for every single one of them unconditionally. She embraced them with love and made everyone feel ever so special and cared for and in return they adored her. She is loved and remembered worldwide, from Oslo, Norway; to Montpellier, France; to Paris, France; to Geneva, Switzerland; to Jamaica; and right here in the USA, she has touched so many lives and will forever be the Mother/Grandmother to many.
Isolyn baked cakes and goodies for everyone in her community of Century Village, as that was just her way of showing love. She spoke to everyone she encountered and went out of her way to be of service in every possible way. Isolyn’s charm and beauty were undeniable, for those who truly had the privilege to know her and be in her presence they were blessed.
Isolyn has left behind a legacy of community service and dedication to making this world a better place, and we are grateful and better for having known her.
Isolyn is survived by her three children: George, Shevanne and Donovan, her daughters-in-law, Laurie and Carol and her son-in-law Jan, her 7 grandchildren, Danielle, Nicole, Michelle, Donovan Jr., Jonathan, Justin and Amber and by her 2 great-grandsons; Timur and Enzo, plus countless nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, adopted grandchildren everywhere and other family members and many amazing and wonderful friends. We ask you to keep her family in your prayers in this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association or New Horizon United Methodist Church:
