

James was born Hazelhurst, Georgia to Henry and Bertie Mae Coleman on April 5, 1935. He went to school at South Broward High School. He married Carolyn Orlando Coleman on March 7, 1954 in Hollywood, Fl. He worked as a Painter for Broward County School Board for thirty years. He was a veteran of the National Guard. He was involved in the (The Weekend Bass Anglers Club, and Bowled on Various Leagues at West Hollywood Lanes and Johnson Street Lanes). He received awards for winning many fishing and bowling tournaments.
James is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Bertie Mae Coleman, his sister Laverne Denmark and his beloved Daughters Karen Ludwig and Susan Arnold and his grandson Robert Coleman Jr.
James is survived by his wife Carolyn Coleman, His son Robert Coleman, his brothers; Gene Coleman, Hollis Coleman, Jerrell Coleman and his sister Cecile Wyrick. His grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss him dearly; he leaves behind eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and four Great Great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.,Thursday January 30, 2025 at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fred Hunter's Mausoleum West. Funeral Arrangements are by Fred Hunter's Funeral Home. The Reception and Fellowship after the burial will be held at the Community Center Hall which is the building that is across the Funeral Home on the same property.
