Jim was born in New Haven, CT to Gus and Anastasia Yergotolis Lekas on November 21, 1942. He graduated from Hillhouse High School and worked as a Bus Operator for Connecticut Transit for 30 years.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sandra Ambrogio, sons: James
Lekas (Antoinette) and Christopher Lekas (Wendy), sister: Carol Prego (Thomas), grandchildren: Kristina Shugarman (Robert), Jake Lekas, Alexandra Lekas and great-granddaughter: Peyton Shugarman. He is also survived by loving members of the Ambrogio and Esposito families.
Jim was a devoted family man and most of all enjoyed being with his family and close friends. He was a loving, caring and generous soul who enjoyed his retirement. Jim loved the outdoors and always appreciated the beauty of the flora and fauna of his Florida home.
Funeral services will be private.
