James B. Porter, Sr., 91, passed away August 9, 2014 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was born in Swan, Iowa and moved to Florida in 1942. A World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corps. Past President of the North Miami Lion's Club. A member of American Legion Post No. 108, Pleasantville, Iowa. He retired from National Airlines (PAN AM) as director of avionics. Those who will cherish his memory are his wife of 72 years, Margaret; sons, James B. Porter, Jr. and Randal Porter; a daughter, Susanne, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren . He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Porter. A memorial service was held on August 12, 2014 at Providence Baptist Church, Plantation, FL.
