

James R. "Poppy" Stewart, 68 of New Smyrna Beach, passed away on Wednesday, May 12th, 2010 with his family at his side. He was born in Rome, Ga. to Floyd and Betty Rakestraw Stewart. He was predeceased by his sister Doris Baron. He is survived by his loving wife Debbie, nephews John and James Hopkins, uncle Donald Stewart, brother-in-law Carmen Perri, sister-in-law Cathy Campbell, Nieces Krista Perri and Keri Krystofik, several grand nieces and nephews and cousins.
He and his wife of 29 years spent most of their life together in South Florida.
Jim drove a tractor trailer cross country for many years before working in the movie and film industry with Teamsters Local 769. He was also a member of the Screen Actor's Guild.
Jim enjoyed all types of fishing from deep sea to the Everglades to the canal in his backyard.He was a long time fan of the Miami Dolphins and Nascar Racing. He loved to travel and became an avid cruiser.
Most of all, Jim loved spending time with his family and friends and was known as "Poppy" to many for his warm and caring ways.
A service will be held at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home at 2401 S. University Drive, Davie on Sunday, May 16th at 5PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Children's Cancer Society.http://videos.lifetributes.com/138260
