Janice Marie (Jones) Kramer, 85, left with the angels and was received into God's loving arms on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at 9:43 a.m. in Deland, Fla. Her daughter, Linda, and son-in law, Raymond Buchton were at her side.
Born April 9, 1932, in Boonsboro, Md., she was the daughter of Otho Martred and Grace Naomi (Huffer) Jones.
She attended school in Boonsboro. She began working at L'Aiglon, a ladies garment factory, in the early 1960s in Hagerstown, Md. She progressed through many positions and was highly involved in the Ladies Garment Union. During the mid '60s, she was president of the Garment Union for several years. She was instrumental in obtaining higher pay and rights for the ladies in this profession.
Around 1968, Janice and her husband, Charles, moved to Hollywood, Fla., where they spent all their time until 2007, when they moved to be near her daughter in Deland, Fla. Janice worked in the ladies garment industry in Hollywood, and Charles worked for BellSouth in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Both were retired.
Janice was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Deland, Florida.
