

Jean Marie Veltri Golemme was born May 23rd, 1944 to Angelo and Stella Veltri. She was the youngest of 5. She had 2 older brothers, Patsy & Joseph (deceased) and 2 older sisters, Ellen (survived) and Ann (deceased). She was born and raised in New York. She graduated from Lawrence High School in Cedarhurst, NY. She had a cosmetology degree. She met and married Thomas Golemme in 1962 at the age of 18. They had their first child, Jo Ann in 1963. They moved to Hollywood, FL where they quickly bought their first home on Lee Street which remained her home. She then had their son, Patrick in 1971. She was a proud Godmother to Ellen LaSalle Verdile and Donna Dorn Perez. She missed her family and often had them live with her until they moved on. She later divorced Tom and worked hard to provide love and support to her children. Jean worked at Woolworth for 23 years. Even after retirement she remained close with the friends she made throughout the years. She never drove but walked everywhere, hitched rides, or received a ride from son-in-law David. She never missed a Friday to get her hair done even when visiting Patrick and Margaret, her daughter-in-law in Orlando. She had an infectious smile and said hi to just about everyone. She was the lovable Her door was always open and she was like a second mom to many of her kids, friends. She became a Grandmother in 1985 to Cammie and then again in 2008 with Ava. She became a Great-Grandmother in 2009 to JP. She got her 1st grandson, Angelo, in 2010, named after her Father. She loved music, devil dogs, roses, watching the Godfather and Steven Segal movies. She gets giddy around a good looking man. She loved to go out to eat and loved to sneak snacks. She had an amazing memory and you could count on her for a call wishing you a happy birthday or happy anniversary. She loved to be prepared and would often shop or pack months in advance. She volunteered at Sheridan Park Elementary as a mentor/tutor for young children in reading. She belonged to Southwest Focal Point in Pembroke Pines and Senior One in Orlando. She didn't like going but enjoyed the time with her friends. She was definitely a woman who shared her heart openly.http://videos.lifetributes.com/162687
