Jeannette Silberman Roth, 91
Loving wife and mother
DAVIE, FLORIDA - Jeannette Silberman Roth, 91, of Davie, Florida, and formerly of South Dennis, MA entered into rest peacefully on January 14, 2019, at her home with family at her side. She is survived by her son Jonathan and daughter Joan.
Born in Providence, RI, the daughter of the late Frank and Rose Silberman, she had a love of learning throughout her life. A proud alumni of Pembroke College in Brown University, Jeannette received multiple scholarships to study mathematics, several languages and psychology at this coordinate women's college. Few women had such opportunity at that time.
A practicing social worker following graduation, Jeannette impacted countless lives in her efforts to assist those less fortunate. Never one to shy away from someone in need, Jeannette made a name for herself by speaking up and advocating for others.
Leaving her social work to become a wife and mother, Jeannette took great joy in the transition. Happily married for 47 years, she delighted in watching her children grow to independent adults. As the years passed, Jeannette began tutoring students of all ages in her favorite subject - math - and continued teaching into her late seventies.
A curious and spiritual woman, Jeannette marveled in exploring ideas beyond the realm of possibility. She was a voracious reader who fueled her imagination by consuming volumes of fiction and fairytales and never tired of rereading her favorites.
Jeannette loved unconditionally - a caring, kind, witty and perceptive woman interested in comforting others and offering support without judgement. Never one to have an agenda, she always put others first. She was deeply loved by many. Her compassion was without end and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Trustbridge Hospice Foundation, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. www.trustbridgefoundation.org
