John has lived in South Florida since the late 60's and worked as a pharmacist. He was very active in his faith and was a member of Saint Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. He was an avid sailor and enjoyed regatta races to Bimini. John was a true patriot serving time in the United States Army.
John is survived by his sons David, Michael, John Jr. , Stephen and Kevin Degen. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren . He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christa Degen, his second wife, Audrey Degen and his son, Tom Degen.
The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Saturday January 13, 2018 at Fred Hunters Hollywood Funeral Home 6301 Taft Street Hollywood, Florida 33024. There will be military honors prior to the prayer service at 2:00 PM.
