John (Jack) Probst from Davie, FL passed away, Monday, March 28, 2011 surrounded by his family. Jack was born on September 11, 1928 in Belleville, IL. He grew up in Belleville, IL, Brooklyn, NY and moved with his family to Miami, FL. Jack graduated from Gesu High School and was a member of the 1946 Crusader State Catholic Basketball championship team. Jack graduated from the University of Miami and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Jack married Jane Elmer in February of 1951 who together raised four sons, Jack Jr., Jerry, Jim and Joe. Widowed in 1993, Jack married Ruth Comottor in 1995 and joined his family with Ruth's including daughters Debbie and Karen and son Jon. Jack is survived by his wife, five sons, two daughters, 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Jack spent his 36 year career with Florida Power and Light. Jack is most remembered for his love of his family, his strong faith, his volunteer spirit as a member of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society and the Knights of Columbus, and the next sport game on TV.http://videos.lifetributes.com/208076
