

Sessa, John C. (Johnny), 81, of Southwest Ranches, a respected and well-known Owner of Johnny Sessa Bulldozing and LW Rozzo rock quarry, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. He was predeceased by his brothers, Ralph and Thomas Sessa; and sister, Sophie Steele. Johnny was also an Owner and breeder of thoroughbred race horses. Born August 5th, 1931 in Cicero, IL to Joseph & Philomena Sessa, he was a resident of Dania Beach, FL for several years before moving to Southwest Ranches where he lived for the past 27 years. He is survived by his wife Judy Sessa, six children; Pamela Molloy, Gary (Linda) Sessa, Marc (Natalie) Sessa, Paula (Scott) Clancy, Jeff (Randi) Sessa, and Karla (Jose) Velez. He is also survived by his sister, Dolly (Bill) Cimino of Dania Beach, his 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter born March 13, 2013.
Johnny and his identical twin brother, Ralph, were born in 1931 in Cicero, Illinois. They moved with their parents and siblings to Florida when they were infants. He graduated from South Broward High School, where his six children also graduated from. He married his wife Judy in 1952, and started a bulldozing business with only one bulldozer. Johnny Sessa Bulldozing grew to be a very successful business and he eventually purchased a rock quarry from LW Rozzo.
As a family, Judy and Johnny raised their children in Dania Beach and enjoyed spending a great deal of time together at the race track watching their race horses run. Although stubborn in nature, his family and friends were the center of his life.
Services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013, 11:30 a.m. at Saint David's Catholic Church, 3900 S. University Drive, Davie FL.
