Jose Antonio Muniz (Tony) the mechanic, the constructor, the craftsman, the creator, the bonsai tree enthusiast, the loving husband, the patient father, the ideal big brother passed away May 2, 2019.
Tony was born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico and moved to New York early in his life. His character developed at a young age as he made sacrifices for a better life for him and his siblings. Virtues like goodness, generosity, temperance, humility would be at the forefront of his character and easily recognized by those who met him.
Tony was also a foundation of knowledge and always a source of inspiration. He was self-taught and dexterous in many traits. The mechanic in him loved tinkering with cars many of which belonged to family and friends. The constructor in him always found ways to improve people's houses. The bonsai tree and mini-air plane enthusiast in him loved learning new hobbies and the camaraderie that followed.
He was a mild-mannered person who enjoyed helping others whether it's family, a neighbor, friends or a stranger having car troubles Tony would not hesitate to take the time to develop a future bond. A friend stated, "he was the only person who would consistently visit me". He has left behind a rich harvest of memories to cherish, honor and emulate. We cannot thank him enough.
In this celebration of a life well lived Jose Antonio Muniz is survived by his wife Nereida and children: Raphael, Jose, Luis, Najivie, Sarbelia and Luis Mark.
