

Cappy was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to Joseph and Ruth Capossela on March 18, 1938. He went to school in Fairfield, Connecticut. He has been with his long-time partner, Loretta Hornak, since 1988. He attended Silvermine Guild of Art. He worked as a mechanic in electronics and was skilled in autobody repair. He was involved in Pequonnoc and Rowayton Yacht Clubs for many years. He loved fishing and once received an award for catching the largest tuna. He loved boating, cars, horses, his pets and his parrot, Ozzy.
Cappy is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ruth Capossela.
Cappy is survived by first wife, Janice Capossela, and long-time partner, Loretta Hornyak. Siblings: Harry J. Capossela (Irene Callahan) and Judy Ann Boccanfuso. Children: Joseph “Chris” Capossela, Michael Capossela, (daughter-in law, Kim Capossela), David Capossela, (daughter-in-law Bernadette Capossela) and Mary Ellen Heller. Grandchildren: David Capossela, Angela Capossela, Nicole Tran and Michael Capossela. Great-Grandchildren: Paxton, Hendrix and Mason Capossela, and Nephews and Niece: Giuseppe D. and Crescienzo Boccanfuso and Anna Maria Boccanfuso-Angelo.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date.
