Joseph C. Ferrel, born on September 16, 1949, in Steamboat Springs, CO, passed away February 27, 2025 at his home in Pembroke Pines, FL. He was predeceased by his father, Manford, his mother, Virginia, and his brother, Phil.
Joseph is survived by his beloved children, Kenneth G. Ferrel (Hannah) and Jennifer C. Adriance (John), as well as his cherished grandchildren, Jason, Justin, and Poppy.
A dedicated engineer, Joseph spent many years serving in various departments at Florida Power & Light before retiring in 2013. Beyond his professional career, his true passion was the theater. He found a second family at the Pembroke Pines Theater of Performing Arts, where he poured his heart into designing and building extraordinary sets, performing on stage, singing in the background, and even running the concession stand during intermission. His presence, talent, and generosity touched countless lives, and the friendships he forged there became as dear to him as family. Joseph also very much enjoyed a good cruise. Meeting new people, attending shows on board or enjoying a good book surrounded by the sounds of the ocean always made him happy.
His care has been entrusted to Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home. While there will not be any public services, if you wish, donations may be made to the Pembroke Pines Theater of Performing Arts to honor his love and dedication to the arts.
Joseph will be remembered for his love, dedication, and the joy he brought to those around him. His kindness, creativity, and unwavering support for his loved ones and theater family will be deeply missed.
