Joseph Gilleece Vance, Sr. 68 of Hollywood, FL, died on September 14, 2009. Born on September 9, 1941, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Mildred Clark and Joseph Hager Vance, Jr. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in mechanical engineering. A computer visionary, he worked for American Fire Sprinkler System Corp of Miami, FL for over a decade. Joseph served in the Vietnam War as a 1st Lieutenant. He is survived by children, Joseph Gilleece Vance, Jr. and Carrie Anne Vance of Hollywood; sisters Jo Ann Altfather of Bowie, MD and Mary Kathryn Sours of Gaithersburg, MD. A daughter, Mandy Lynn Vance, proceeded him in death. Funeral services will be held at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 6301 Taft St. Hollywood, FL (954-989-1550) with burial at National Veterans Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL at 1:30pm.
