Joy Marjorie Williams (Faircloth), age 51, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on May 8, 2013. A professional pet groomer and floral designer, she was a beautiful and bold spirit who battled many hardships and physical pain in her short life. Yet she always had compassion for the sick, poor and hurting. Her good friend, Bernie Weiss, called her an "angel" for her comfort during his terminal illness. Born on the first day of Spring, she had a deep love for nature and animals, especially cats, flowers and her favorite place, the Great Smoky Mountains. A classy lady and a sharp dresser, she could also reel in a big redfish or snook with much delight. Her favorite books were "Rebel With A Cause," the autobiography of Franklin Graham, and The Bible. Ephesians 3:20 and John 3:16 she cherished. "Dances with Wolves" was her top film.
Joy, you left us far too soon, and for everyone who loved you, life here will now always seem more like Winter than the bountiful season of Spring. Be as free as a bird now, your pain is over.
Joy was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Bond; grandmother, Georgia Whiddon and great-grandmother, Ethel "Bunny" Bishop. She is survived by her husband, John H. Williams; father, Leonard W. Faircloth; sisters, Sharon, Carol and Cindy as well as brothers, Len and David; and her cousin, Darlene.
Joy's funeral sevice (a scattering of her ashes) will be on Sunday June 30th, 2 hours prior to sunset, in Cherokee, North Carolina. Anyone interested in attending can contact Sharon Faircloth in Rochelle, GA, or Alan Pensiero at [emailprotected]
