She retired from Broward County in 1989 as Deputy Clerk of the Recording Division, after 31 years of service. Julia was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale and their Adult Activity Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Bromwell; grandson, Christopher Bromwell; nieces, Leslie Ciauro and Joanne Lamendola; as well as grandnephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis M. Phillips, Jr.; one sister and one brother.
The Memorial Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale; 401 SE 15th Ave.; Ft. Lauderdale. In lieu of flowers, contributions given in memory of Julia can be directed to the Adult Activity Center at First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale.
