

On Friday, December 6, 2019, Katherine Galaska, loving mother and grand-mother passed away peacefully at the age of 92. She was born in Cologne, Germany on March 14, 1927 and died in Boca Raton, Florida.
She was raised in Germany and married Zygmunt Galaska in Hamburg, Germany before coming to New York in 1956. After living through the early loss of both parents and the scars of war, she and her husband, Zygmunt, were happy in America. They worked hard as cook and butler for wealthy families and loved to vacation in Florida where eventually they became hotel owners on Hollywood Beach in 1964. Kathy loved to cook and entertain friends and her home was open to all. She was loved for her kind heart and ever-optimistic soul.
Katherine was predeceased by her husband Zygmunt Galaska 2011, brother, Willi Lindgens of Cologne, Germany, parents Wilhelm Lindgens and Ana Maria (Krewinkle) Lindgens of Cologne, Germany and cousins Gerda Shubert and Helga Friedrich.
She is survived by her daughter Susan (Galaska) McKinney and son-in law Mark McKinney, grandson Brian Quinn, grand-daughter Kelly (Quinn) Carpenter, grand-son-in-law Scott Carpenter, and cousins Josi Maas and Inge Huhn, sister in-law Kazia Kroczek, niece Anetta Goldkowska.
Reception will follow the interment at the McKinney home in Sunrise.
Her charitable spirt will live on with a donation to the charity of your choice.
