Kathleen Marie DeFelice

Kathleen "Cathy" DeFelice, 49 of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida passed away Saturday February 4th, 2017 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident while driving to work Monday morning, January 30th, 2017. Cathy was born March 11th, 1967 at Broward General Hospital in Fort Lauderdale. She is survived by: loving partner of 23 years, Corrine Viscomi; parents Jerry (deceased) & Yvonne DeFelice of Fort Lauderdale FL; siblings Debbie DeFelice Nichols & Curt Nichols of Fort Lauderdale, Kimberly DeFelice Piccirillo & Michael Piccirillo of Plantation FL and James DeFelice of Beaver Falls, PA. Cathy is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Chris Nichols (18) of Amherst, MA (University of Massachusetts); Ashley Piccirillo (22) of Pensacola, FL (Pensacola Christian College); Emily Piccirillo (20) Gennaro Piccirillo (12) & Sophia Piccirillo (3) of Plantation, FL; Kara DeFelice (30) & Mary Rose DeFelice (29) of Beaver Falls, PA; Along with being a loving aunt, Cathy was intelligent and hardworking. She was a graduate of Stranahan High School class of 1985, where she starred on the softball team. Following high school, Cathy received her medical assistant certification from Broward College, and has spent the last 25 years working in the medical field as both a medical assistant and office manager. Cathy loved holidays, especially Christmas. She also enjoyed traveling to Walt Disney World, playing with her dog Quincy, and above all laughing. Cathy was a giver and always enjoyed giving more than receiving; in fact, her final gift was the gift of life to others. In her final hour, Cathy, an organ donor, gave life and hope to countless families. Through her gifts and love, she will live on forever. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, February 8th 6:00pm at Fred Hunter Funeral Home (718 S Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale)
