

Kirk was born to Ercil and Marceil (Rogers) Hoke on July 20, 1946, in Manhattan, Kansas. Upon graduation from Manhattan High School, he enlisted in the Kansas National Guard where he proudly served from June 1964 to January 1975. He spent 47 years at Schwab Eaton Consulting Engineers, working his way up from Draftsman to Senior Design Technician.
Kirk was preceded in death by his parents and sister Karen Rogers of Manhattan, KS.
Kirk is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 45 years, Linda, of Plantation, FL, sons Tony (Ginger) Hoke of Garland, TX, Tye Hoke of Caddo Mills, TX, Lance (Dana) Hoke of Plano, TX, and daughter Mary Beth (Dave) Burshtein of Plantation, FL, brother Tom Hoke of Manhattan, KS, grandchildren Brandon (Alyssa) Hoke, Ian Hoke, Julia Hoke, Ava Burshtein, Anna Burshtein, and Elijah Burshtein, great-grandchildren Riley Hoke, Archer Hoke, and Cooper Hoke, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kirk's passions included storytelling through painting, Kansas State University and Kansas City Chiefs football, and US history. He cherished every moment of his retirement adventures with his family and friends while moving around the country from Las Vegas to Philadelphia, Denver, and his favorite stop, sunny South Florida.
A celebration of Kirk's life will be held in Manhattan, Kansas, in the fall of 2023, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory. Details will be sent in the coming weeks.
